Secretary-Treasurer Emerita, 1939-1942*

Lucie L. Lataillade, B.A., Iota

 

Lucie Louise Lataillade is listed as the Secrétaire-Trésorière of Pi Delta Phi in the May 1939 (Vol. 1, no. 3) issue of Pi Delta Phi's first publication Deux Patries. A native of Pasadena, she graduated from Stanford University in 1936 where she was a member of Pi Delta Phi and Pi Lambda Theta (women's national honorary education society). She pursued graduate work at Stanford starting in 1937 and is listed as a faculty member in French from 1938-39. Lataillade next worked as the assistant head then director of Roble Hall, a dormitoriy for women at Stanford, through the 1940s. She completed her M.A. in French at Stanford in 1950. Following graduation, she served as director of the Little French School in San Mateo. Lataillade was member of the Private Nursery School Association of California, the National Association for Education of Young Children, and the Cenacle Retreat League. Ms. Lataillade passed away in 1974.
