Judith Barban, Ph.D. 

 

Dr. Barban obtained a B.A. from Agnes Scott College, an M.A. from Emory University, and her Ph.D. from the University of Georgia where she specialized in medieval French literature. She is the editor of The Life of Saint Audrey: A Text by Marie De France. In addition to her degrees in French Dr. Barban also earned a Bachelor of Music from Kennesaw State University and a Master of Music from Winthrop University. Dr. Barban has lived in France as a Fulbright scholar and taught at the Université de Provence in Aix-en-Provence, France. She also lived for a year in Italy. After a distinguished career as a university professor of French, Dr. Barban pursued her interest in creative writing and has published several novels including Poplar River and Meredith's Wolf. Dr. Barban has received numerous awards for her novels, short stories, and poetry and has spoken about writing and her work to clubs, schools, libraries, and civic organizations.
