Gisèle A. (Liff) Hart, M.A., Alpha
Angele Anna Gisèle Liff completed a B.A. (1941) and M.A. (1943) in French at the University of California, Berkeley where she assumed the position of Secretary-Treasurer in 1944. Former National President Dr. Max Oppenheimer Jr. credited Ms. Liff with almost single-handedly holding the Society together during the challenging World War II and immediate post war years. Following her service to Pi Delta Phi, Ms Hart worked as a French teacher with the West Contra Costa, California, Unified School District for forty years. She was a member of the Foreign Language Association of California (FLANC) and the California Language Teachers Association (CLTA).
